Baylor St. Luke’s is home to three freestanding community emergency centers (Holcombe, Pearland, and San Felipe) offering adult and pediatric care–treating more than 51,000 patients annually.The hospital holds a collaborative partnership with Baylor College of Medicine and affiliations with The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, The University of Texas Medical Branch (Galveston), Houston Baptist University, and Prairie View A&M University.Position SummaryThe Market Senior Vice President of Medical Operations (CMO) leads clinical and quality initiatives that support the provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the hospital; reviews quality performance with hospital leadership; facilitates the analysis of quality performance and prioritization improvement opportunities. serves as the line officer for the Medical Staff Service Line Chiefs, the Quality Department including quality, regulatory compliance, risk management/safety, infection control, and medical staff credentialing functions, ensuring the collaboration and coordination of all stakeholders in these processes; facilitates hospital-wide medical staff integration; and consults on issues involving physicians. ','!*!Minimum Job Qualifications Minimum Education: Licensed as an M.D. or D.O. with Board Certification in a clinical discipline.Minimum years in field prior to employment: CMO experience in a large, complex hospital or regional health system; minimum five years of clinical practice experiencePosition Responsibilities 1. Leading clinical performance expectations that support the goals of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the facility to ensure superior clinical outcomes and exceptional patient experience2. Working with Market President/CEO, Medical Staff, and Board of Directors, to improve the functionality and effectiveness of the hospital medical staff organization3. Partnering and collaborating with medical staff and hospital and medical school management teams, facilitating teamwork and shared goals. Representing medical staff viewpoints to management and relaying management viewpoints to medical staff by establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between stakeholders, leadership and community and/or employed physicians.4. Providing clinical support and consultation regarding cost effective clinical resource management in the facilities by sharing of reports and recommendations regarding how to reduce the variable cost per case while maintaining and enhancing clinical effectiveness.5. Supporting strategies to drive top decile performance in areas of patient experience, employee and physician engagement. 6. Creating an environment of quality and cost improvement that is data driven and develops systems to review utilization of resources and objectively measure outcomes of care in the inpatient and outpatient settings.7. Serving as a direct liaison between Academic Partner, Research partner, affiliated physicians, Texas Region hospitals, and corporate clinical services functions.8. Establishing and maintaining an ongoing program to orient and develop management expertise for Hospital Chiefs of Staff, Medical Executive Committees, and other medical staff leaders by providing oversight and leadership for all medical education programs.9. Leading educational sessions and providing ongoing in-services to facility medical staff regarding clinical resource management, appropriate documentation standards, utilization and quality issues, and quality improvement activities in collaboration with the chief of staff or other clinical leadership in the facility.10. Serving as spokesperson to explain and obtain buy in for, corporate, academic, and facility, sponsored clinical initiatives.11. Collaborating on a day to day basis with other facility and corporate Chief Medical Officers.12. Educating physicians on clinical technologies.13.
