MetLife US Marketing (USM), the regional team of GBM that supports all US businesses, has built and activated centralized marketing capabilities designed to scale strategic US marketing programs for improved business impact, helping the company successfully deliver against short and long-term growth expectations.

Role Value Proposition:

The Marketing Operations Manager will support the broader US Marketing Team with operational capabilities and play an integral role in continuing to strengthen team culture, define best practices and lead key marketing workstreams for prioritized programs. This includes facilitating collaboration between the various functional Marketing Teams (Global Marketing, US Marketing Center functions, US Business Unit Marketing), and acting as a liaison to enterprise partners such as Finance, Learning & Development and HR.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the annual marketing planning process in close partnership with US Marketing Strategy, including working with US Marketing Leaders to capture, centrally document and report progress against US Marketing priorities.

Proactively identify opportunities for improvements in operational processes across the US Marketing Team and drive efforts for strengthening capabilities. This includes the recommendation, adoption and scaling of new methods or technologies that can enhance interaction, productivity and impact.

Lead curriculum development and coordination of Marketing Team training that covers skills development, strengthening of business acumen and sharing of cross-functional business practices. The later demands staying tightly connected with local, regional and global Marketing and Business Teams for the identification and collection of key learnings and best practices.

Actively support the US Marketing Culture Team and champion key programs and activities that drive transparency, collaboration and engagement. Measuring success through ongoing feedback and analysis is a critical component.

Plan and coordinate quarterly Marketing Townhalls and Marketing Team events, including working closely with US Marketing Leaders on content and communication development.

Lead assigned marketing programs and/or workstreams at both strategic and tactical levels that drive business impact within or across US business units, including the promotion of a 'test, measure and learn' mindset.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


7 years of professional experience facilitating and leading a range of cross-functional teams

Proven passion for helping teams and organizations transform, grow, and deliver excellence

Demonstrated ability to engage with and influence levels up and down an organization

Excellent oral and written communications, including a strong proficiency with PowerPoint

Understanding of a broad range of new and emerging collaboration tools and digital technologies

Proficient knowledge of survey development, data analytics and reporting with tools such as Microsoft Excel

Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent project management skills and commitment to deadlines

Ability to tactfully own and manage a multitude of projects while balancing competing priorities in a rapid paced environment


Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field is preferred

Knowledge of MetLife products and processes is preferred

Advanced degree in Business or Marketing is a plus

Applied knowledge of marketing and/or strategic planning practices

Insurance industry and/or financial services experience
