The Sourcing Specialist – Supply Chain position supports the strategic sourcing and category management for Best Buy’s Supply Chain through contract management, project planning, and data & analytics. This role acts as an independent contributor as well as a support role for more complex sourcing projects. The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting the category management (project planning, data mining and analytics, negotiation, and contracting) for an established portfolio of complex modes of transportation, distribution, fulfillment, advanced engineering, and reverse supply chain. This position will create value while reducing total cost of ownership through proactive category planning, sourcing, and management in alignment with Supply Chain strategies for non-merchandise goods and services acquired by Best Buy. This position interacts with leaders throughout the Best Buy organization.

What will you do?

Support the sourcing and/or negotiation of a broad portfolio of complex Supply Chain products and services with industry knowledge, tools, processes, analytics, and strategies to drive and achieve business results in the following capabilities: GNFR (Goods Not For Resale, or Direct Spend) Supplier Sourcing and Portfolio Management: Ability to create a portfolio of available and preferred suppliers, proactively manage contract expirations and renewals, perform total cost analytics, and maintain service levels from suppliers.

GNFR Supplier Relationship Management: Ability to identify and establish relationships with credible suppliers and create a mutually beneficial relationship.

GNFR Contract Management: Ability to create and manage contracts, managing and monitoring compliance, and reducing exposure to risk factors.

Support the Supply Chain Procurement team and their Business Partners in project management efforts with a focus on RFx execution: Strong ability to close communication gaps, drive status updates, and efficiently gather internal requirements to ensure RFx timelines are met.

Facilitate internal and external project meetings, prepare agendas, take detailed notes, and communicate action items using approved channels.

Perform Procurement functions, as needed, such as: Closely partner with Procurement Operations team to ensure that a total sourcing and procurement solution is delivered to Best Buy.

Support end-to-end source-to-pay process.

Support communications with cross-functional areas in establishing and sustaining this centralized sourcing function, ensuring compliance in the use of sourcing services.

Support Category Manager and/or Sr. Category Manager with more complex category management activities including, but not limited to: Spend reporting, contract redlines, negotiations, supplier research, project management, and RFx.

Partner with internal business clients to develop and influence sourcing strategy using the best tools and methodology, by project.

Analyze sourcing results from a total cost of ownership perspective and provide optimization recommendations.

Minimum Requirements:

2 years of experience to include sourcing, negotiation and contracting, or equivalent

1 year of experience with project management and ability to execute on multiple projects

Proficient skills in data analysis and Excel

Strong business acumen: ability to make recommendations for new metrics, strategies, and methods to improve business outcomes

Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize tasks from multiple stakeholders

Ability to effectively influence/lead change and execute to plan while developing collaborative relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or closely related field

Supply chain experience

Category-specific procurement experience based on the position applying for or legal equivalent experience, with outsourced relationship/partner development

Possess high degree of initiative, creative, innovative, proactive skills and abilities

Good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships at all levels of leadership
