Managing Director of Compliance Operations
HealthRight360’s Compliance Department provides support to programs throughout the organization. This position represents a key aspect of our efforts to provide strong collaboration and uniformity. We are looking for strong candidates to join our efforts to support HR360’s mission and the importance of creating ethical and collaborative partnerships.
The Managing Director of Compliance Operations oversees the operations and deployment of all Southern California and Northern California Compliance Coordinators to ensure compliant documentation to meet Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) and other regulatory and funder standards. The Managing Director works with VP of Compliance to review audit findings and develop a plan to address any deficiencies. The Managing Director is a part of the organization’s Compliance Leadership team.
Oversees the development of operation processes and the deployment of all Compliance Coordinators in Southern and Northern California, ensuring consistency throughout the organization.
Acts as liaison with clinical leadership to ensure acknowledgement of audit reporting and creation of any corrective action plans.
Working with the organization’s VP of Compliance, who serves as the Privacy Officer, provides support for HIPAA/42 CFR questions and issues.
Triages and addresses, as part Compliance Leadership, compliance related inquiries from HR360 programs, directly or through Compliance Coordinators.
Helps create, identify and address policies and procedures to meet compliance standards and regulations.
Represents the agency at appropriate external meetings.
Along with the Compliance Leadership team, collaborates with, the VPs of Southern and Northern California Behavioral Health, fiscal/billing team, and quality improvement team.
Supports the grievance, incident & medical records process across the agency.
Ensures consistency and appropriateness of Compliance efforts and reporting.
Accomplishes compliance business objectives by producing value-added employee results; offering information and opinion as a member of the Compliance leadership team; integrating objectives with other programs throughout the organization; directing staff.
Develops compliance organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction, establishing functional objectives with organizational strategies.
Establishes compliance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems; implementing change.
Protects assets by establishing and upholding compliance standards; anticipating emerging compliance trends; designing improvements to internal control structure.
Actively mitigates risk for the organization by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing regulations; recommending new procedures; complying with legal requirements.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Enhances compliance and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and timely responding to the needs of internal and external partners; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Liaison between medical support programs and services and compliance department to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Supports HR360s Privacy Officer in ensuring HIPAA and 42 CFR compliance.
In conjunction with the Deputy Chief of Compliance, Vice President of Compliance and clinical directors is responsible for ensuring that all documentation complies with applicable standards.
Responsible for internal and external program audits for medical/dental clinics and medical support services.
Provide Trainings to staff on documentation.
Responsible for supporting standardization of policy rollouts and ensuring internal tracking of reports and regular updates.
Arrangement of work schedule in accordance with the agency’s needs.
Compliance with agency’s policies and procedures And, other duties as assigned.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Required:
Minimum 1-2 years Compliance or related experience (with a preference of four or more years).
Knowledge of and strong understanding of HIPAA and 42 CFR regulations.
Minimum 1-2 years experience supervising staff and/or overseeing programs or projects (with a preference of three or more years).
Experience in a Director or equivalent level.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field; advanced degree may be considered for experience.
Clinical background and understanding of behavioral health clinical care and standards.
Familiarity with DMC regulatory requirements.
Background Clearance Required:
Must not be on active parole or probation.

Knowledge of evidence based substance use and mental health treatments.
Knowledge of Clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.).
Experience working with criminal justice population.
Experience working with underserved communities of color.
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or equivalent.
