The End User Computing team is a part of the End User Productivity, Service and Operations Management team (SOM). We are operationally accountable for all client platforms, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and virtual desktops. This includes the maintenance and deployment of enterprise software, publishing of mobile applications and the hosting of virtual applications. Every day, over 100K people across Shell rely on our services to enable their work. In this role, you will be responsible for the backend application (e.g. Workspace One UEM), the foundation for all of our client platforms.

What’s the role?

This role is responsible for managing the Workspace One (UEM) Platform. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical and supplier management skills and the ability to provide operational support in a very large and very complex environment.

Accountabilities include:

Oversee platform management activities performed by 3rd party managed service provider

Understand how to Configure/install/troubleshoot various software issues related to the installation and maintenance of VMware Workspace ONE UEM products

Act as a proactive force by identifying new features and updates of mobile technology in general and of the Workspace ONE platform specifically

Provide detailed documentation whenever necessary

Research, evaluate and recommend new or upgraded hardware/software to ensure proper operation and performance; Provide thought leadership

Work with vendors for product enhancement announcements and other issues

Utilize basic network skills to help in solving UEM issues

Identify, access and use resources for troubleshooting and continued education (internet, webinars, etc.)

Operate rigorous change management processes, demonstrating environmental control and minimal user impact

What we need from you?

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Strong expertise with Workspace One UEM platform, (Minimum five (5) years of experience)

Familiarity with and interest in mobile and client devices is a must (iOS, Android, Mac OS, Windows 10/11, etc.)

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred

Experience with IDPs like Ping or Okta, Office 365 Unified Access Gateways

Experience with technologies like Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, load balancing, basic networking, proxies, certificate authorities, and VPN

Experience with VMware Horizon is ideal but not required

Strong desktop and server knowledge for troubleshooting are required

Inherently curious with strong problem-solving capabilities

Independent and objective thinker.

Results/outcomes oriented; business value focused.

Confidence and ability to work effectively in periods of high pressure.

Ability to operate in a global, virtual cross-cultural organization, working across different time zones

Strong relationship & stakeholder management skills - experience in developing strong working relationships with peers and suppliers

Ability to influence others and work through others to deliver the desired results

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to drive collaborative efforts.

Strong familiarity with ITIL Processes and escalation procedures
