This position is located at the Kansas City National Security Campus in Kansas City, MO
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for setting strategies related to vendor assessments to help ensure products or services ordered are delivered on time at the best value
Strategic sourcing responsibilities include analyzing supply base capability and capacity, supplier base rationalization, and single source mitigation
Initiate and oversee PQR audit process as part and vendor onboarding process
Collaborate with internal business partners to facilitate vendor alignment with GS Business Plan
Develop framework including decision criteria for Make/Buy decisions and vendor selection on GS projects
Responsible for facilitation of supplier performance concerns when escalated
Partners with procurement to identify opportunities to consolidate vendors, establish multiple vendors to reduce risk, or other actions that reduce supplier risk and improve sourcing performance
Ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures and export/import regulations
Integrate with systems engineering to develop purchasing processes that support system requirements and verification
Mentor staff and provide guidance to GS PM and engineering staff related to purchased products best practices and procedures
You Must Have:
US Citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Business from an accredited program/institution.
Ten (10) or more years of demonstrated experience executing complex projects
Four (4) or more years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Supply Chain

Extensive experience (10 years) in procurement
Experience with complex and large project management and/or contract management experience Demonstrated business and financial acumen
Experience with six sigma and lean tools
Demonstrate proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel
Strong verbal, written, negotiating and analytical skills demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines
Possess the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines
