Job Description:

Lead and manage the TE Build Group (procurement, inventory and build operations of the Test Engineering HW Group). The TE Build Group’s responsibilities are:Responsible for developing processes and work instructions for organization.

Evaluation Bill of Materials for TE cables, fixtures, stations and other hardware

Procure material for build operations and other part needs

Maintain inventory of new and surplus parts

Evaluate inventory, cost and lead times data and manage group accordingly to meet demanding build efforts for new test system designs and factory test stations and fixtures.

Develop metrics and initiating HBX projects as they apply to improving the efficiencies of the TE HW build work.

Supervise the daily operation of the TE Build Group.

Work with the TE HW Group design personnel for design reviews and supported build needs.

Develop labor forecasts for upcoming work.

Set priorities for work scheduling and direct personnel accordingly.

Qualifications:

BS degree in engineering/manufacturing

Experienced with production methods dealing with established assemblies and new prototype assemblies

Experience with mining data from databases, writing database queries as related to material inventory, build assignments and part procurement lead times and cost.

Highly organized and process oriented

Experience with organizing assembly efforts that include part procurement, inventory and kitting

Demonstrated ability to lead a team

Experience with automation systems including electronic test

Must be a self-starter, and able to work successfully with minimal supervision

Experience and knowledge of 5S methods

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with MS Access

Experience related to managing fast paced job shop type organization

Experience with production test station/fixture fabrication
