The Foodbuy SES (Supplies, Equipment, & Services) Compliance Department is responsible for providing quotations and placing Purchase Orders for kitchen equipment, smallwares, vending, office coffee, and Design and Construction purchases. The Purchasing Specialist position will support several Compass sectors with a focus on Canteen purchases. The position is located in our offices in Charlotte, NC.
*Work with Internal/External teams and field operations to obtain accurate information to provide vendors during the purchasing process. *Research and provide quotations to Compass units utilizing Foodbuy compliant programs. Work closely with approved distribution channels to prepare quotations, provide equipment specification sheets, compare like-for-like equipment specifications, monitor competitive pricing, and freight costs. *Work with Compass operations to transition non-compliant purchases to preferred programs. *Utilize MyAdmin system to create Purchase Orders and research order history. *Work with manufactures and distribution to maintain catalogs and pricing. *Act as a primary resource for Compass operations, vendors and Field Implementation Managers (FIM) to provide order status, resolve issues and manage suppliers to ensure deliveries and installation schedules are completed.
*1-3 years foodservice industry experience desired *Bachelor’s degree preferred; related experience will be considered in lieu of formal education *Working Knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer) required *Working knowledge of SAP preferred *The ability to work in a fast pace environment, prioritize and solve issues effectively *Excellent communication and customer relationship skills *Experience meeting stated timelines and deadlines *Collaborative – works well as a member of a team *Consistently displays strong integrity and ethics

Mr. Balbontín founded Compass Group LLC in 1995 and is currently the president of the Board and a senior investment strategist. He was previously a managing partner and founder of New World Investments Group of Banco Santander in New York. Mr. Balbontín has also served as director of Capital Markets and co-director of Sales and Trading of Citicorp Emerging Markets Group (ICFD) in New York, London, and Tokyo. He has more than 25 years of experience in asset management, investment banking, and private capital investments in Latin America and other emerging markets. Mr. Balbontín has a Bachelor´s degree in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and MBA from Harvard Business School.
