Profile

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:Responsible for leading the operations function of the compensation team including compensation data, systems, processes, analytics, compliance, as well as the related policies and programs. Develops and implements strategies to proactively support the operations of the Compensation function in support of the business operations of Fresenius Medical Care Americas. Optimizes key interdepartmental relationships across the company and is viewed as a valued and trusted business partner.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Lead the creation, implementation, and administration of best-in-class compensation systems, programs, policies and procedures in support of the Total Rewards department as well as all global business operations.• Oversee and guide various project initiatives, integrating resources, teams, and budget while delivering timely results.• Create and implement key metric reporting and presentations to measure, assess, and monitor the ongoing effectiveness of policies, practices, guidelines, and tools.• Monitor the research of market conditions and the analysis of survey data to establish and maintain equitable and competitive global salary structures and ranges.• Collaborate regularly with the HRIS department to explore options to optimize the use of the HRMS to increase efficiencies and accuracy of employee data, and to develop processes to promote more effective administration of salary changes and pay transactions.• Provide strategic oversight, leadership and expertise to Compensation staff ensuring that compensation and pay practices are compliant with all pertinent regulatory requirements.• Evaluate and audit various compensation programs and metrics to identify trends and understand program value, identifying and recommending adjustments and changes as appropriate.• Design, develop and oversee compensation related training and education programs for business leaders and HR partners. Provide separate training and education programs for targeted management groups as needed.• Provide communication and training to other HR professionals and managers on compensation strategies, objectives, and the features of the compensation programs, providing tools and techniques to ensure that plan objectives are met and consistently applied.• Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching for direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; oversee and manage the workload and responsibilities of assigned staff.• Assist the VP, Total Rewards with the development of the annual department budget, ensuring all related expenses are requested and tracked on a monthly basis.• Manage the continuous improvement of the Compensation process, workflow and systems through frequent analyses and audits, providing recommendations for improvements to enable the company to attract, motivate and retain the best possible employees while maintaining compliance with all pertinent regulations and guidelines.• Work with external compensation vendors to achieve optimal system performance and maintain effective working relationships.• May assist in compensation administration activities such as job analyses and competitive benchmarking, and provides guidelines for structuring new hire offers, promotions and other pay adjustments, transfers etc.• Other related duties as assigned.SUPERVISION:• Responsible for the direct supervision of lean Compensation staff, as well as influence and partnership with non-Compensation staff members.EDUCATION:• Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred.EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:• 10+ years’ related experience.• 5+ years’ experience as a Manager; or 7+ years’ experience in a senior compensation consultant role.• 5+ years’ experience with HRIS, compensation systems, and/or data management required.• Experience in a global matrixed organization required.• SHRM Certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP) is a plus.• Strong project management and presentation skills required.• CCP certification is a plus.• Current knowledge of Compensation strategies, theories, best practices, and regulations.• Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.• Excellent oral and written communication skills.• Strong analytical skills combined with effective interpersonal skills.• Solid to expert knowledge of FLSA and Wage and Hour laws.• Strong consultative skills to work with all levels of management in a relationship driven organization.• Good understanding of total compensation practices.• Competency with computer software applications such as Microsoft Office.• Must be able to identify and solve problems creatively with a win-win focus.• Must be flexible with the ability to work in situations where there is not unique correct answer.EO/AA Employer: Minorities/Females/Veterans/Disability/Sexual Orientation/Gender IdentityFresenius Medical Care North America maintains a drug-free workplace in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.,identifier:R0080482,industry:Headquarters,title:Director, Americas Compensation Operations & Programs,url:https://jobs.fmcna.com/job/waltham/director-americas-compensation-operations-and-programs/488/45916288656,workHours:1,hiringOrganization:{@type:Organization,name:FRESENIUS},jobLocation:{@type:Place,address:{@type:PostalAddress,addressLocality:Waltham,addressRegion:Massachusetts,addressCountry:US,streetAddress:Headquarters,postalCode:02451}}}
