Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing and directing the engineering group responsible for each of the Networking technologies. Directs an engineering team capable of executing large projects accurately taking into account varied and unique product requirements and balancing the priorities of those projects. Acts as an interface to third party vendors from a business and engineering perspective with respect to requirements for meeting company goals and with respect to licensable technology. Provides leadership and direction for diverse and complex functions. Contributes to the development of the organization's business strategy. Interprets business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with this strategy. Typically manages multiple teams of professionals. This is a West Divison Shared Services construction role focusing on engineering operations support (EOS), including presales, addressing, GIS, intake, and reporting.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Maintains communication of project statuses and drives for continued improvement in quality and availability of each product offering.

Works closely with field operations, product development engineers and business development staff.

Directs technology development and field introduction through design engineering, vendor interaction, lab testing and field soak.

Provides a sustaining engineering role for networking technologies.

Builds relationships with the Division and Market Engineering and Operations, National Engineering and Operations and Corporate Business development groups.

Works in conjunction with Test and Quality Assurance organization to optimize quality control of devices and technology.

Deploys new functionality quickly and accurately, minimizing disruptions even during maintenance windows.

Ensures the definition, implementation and maintenance of all network engineering infrastructures.

Ensures technology strategy is aligned to execute business initiatives. Evaluates, creates, implements and reviews architecture models to meet business initiatives.

Develops and implements best practice security standards to ensure the security of all systems, applications and data. Develops, implements and maintains business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Bachelor's Degree
