The term ''operation jobs'' covers a vast number of positions within most organizations. Many of these jobs are in the production area. A large number of jobs in operation fall into a different category. These are typically high-end jobs in management positions that are well above the operations manager of a single plant or division within a company. These are special operations jobs. One group of these special operations jobs includes major finance business operations analyst jobs. Analyst jobs come in many forms. The skills needed to perform one business operations analyst job would be 100% inappropriate in another.

Below are some examples of business operations analyst jobs with a brief description of the job duties and skill needed by the person applying for the position. Look at each one and see the diversity that exists within this job category.

Business Process Analyst: This position requires someone with the ability to define and manage the implementation of every step in the business process. From how and where raw materials are taken into the company through production and distribution of finished product, this person is responsible for every step along the way. Being able to manage people is a major skill that goes with this position as no one person could perform all of these processes without skilled staff working with them.

Inventory Analyst: This position calls for a strong background in accounting and in inventory control. A Bachelor of Science degree in business, inventory control, or accounting is required as minimum qualification. Experience in inventory control and/or accounting is another requirement. This is not an entry-level position. Auditing inventories on a monthly basis and communicating with the accounting department are some of the more basic duties of this position. Dealing with suppliers and managers to reconcile inventory issues are also a part of this particular business operations analyst job. Experience with MS Excel and other inventory management software would be especially helpful.

Logistics analyst: This position entails analyzing the processes of moving materials from one point to another. Planning and implementing new methods of handling materials and finding the fastest and least expensive means of moving raw materials into the business and finished products shipping to customers. In some companies this includes moving parts from one division within a company to another for further assembly. This is a high stress position at times. Extensive experience in dealing with fulfillment of customer needs and various transportation modes is needed.

Technical operations analyst: Examining the processes of operating the various divisions within a corporation and planning and implementing technical solutions to the processes are the main functions of this position. Choosing the technology to be used in equipment built for use in production facilities and choosing software solutions for the IT department in a company are required functions of this special operation job.

As the above examples show, education, and experience are requirements to bill any type of operations analyst position. A minimum of a BS degree is typically needed. Some positions can require a master’s degree. Experience in at least two or three functions of the position is essential. It usually takes five to ten years to gain the experience needed to qualify for these jobs. None of the jobs described could be viewed as entry-level positions. Salaries paid to these specialists are high, usually ranging from $75,000 to over $100,000.

There are many, many more positions that fall under the umbrella of business operations analysts. The required skills are varied and difficult to fill. For this reason, it is probably best for both the employer and possible employee to work through a job search website. These websites offer job listing services to employers from all over the country and resume posting services to employees.

The other advantage to employers is the ability to search an extensive list of resumes to find only the most qualified applicants for filling the position. Being able to search resumes of people from all over the country makes it easier for employers to pick and choose from the best possible choices available to interview and take only the best qualified candidate to fill the position.

The advantage to employees is in being able to search job listings from all over the country. If a person is willing to relocate to a new city if the job requires it, the odds of finding a job that is perfect for that person are greatly improved. It is not too uncommon for employees that are already in a good position to keep their options open and check these listings on a regular basis. A person who is between jobs and has the proper qualifications can often contact employers through the website and negotiate terms when applying for special operation jobs like these analyst positions.

There is a wide variety of jobs that can be called business operation jobs. Some of the most responsible and highest paying business operations jobs are called special operations jobs and require a more extensive education and experience than is commonly available in the average employee. Business analyst positions are extremely specialized and responsible positions. The qualifications are demanding, but the rewards for filling these positions are extensive. Job search websites make it possible for companies and employees to meet even if they are several hundred miles apart.
