Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, Inc., a part of Pratt & Whitney, offers a complete line of propulsion products from launch vehicles to missile defense to advanced hypersonic propulsion. These have been used in a wide variety of government and commercial applications, including the main engines for the Space Shuttle, Atlas and Delta launch vehicles, and High Altitude Defense Systems. The company is also focused on the Power and Energy sector, including the Solar, Gasification, and Oil sectors, among others.

The Marketing Operations Manager, Marketing & Strategy (M&S) will report directly to the Director of M&S for Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne (PWR). This position will be responsible for strategic and tactical sales support and supporting marketing initiatives for the company. The Marketing Operations Manager will provide leadership to his/her group throughout the M&S organization and will be expected to develop process improvements in support of the organization. This is a highly visible and networked role, with frequent interactions expected with subordinates, peers, within the M&S organization & other business development leaders and Sr. executives within PWR. This role will focus on our business units that serve and support the business development managers whose primary accountability is to sell current PWR products to existing customers and introduce new PWR products into a rapidly growing sustainable energy market.
This role requires an individual capable of developing integrated marketing plans along with the ability to drive these plans to execution (tactical and implementation skill sets). The candidate will periodically interact with our global advertising and design firms and where appropriate identify local firms that can customize the marketing messages and vehicles to the unique requirements of particular markets.
The Marketing Operations Manager will be directly accountable for the following elements of the marketing mix within the PWR family of companies:
Sales Support, Customer Relationship Management, Team Management, Resource Management and Budgeting, Branding, Corporate Identity, Web Site, Advertising and Media, and Trade Shows.
The Essential Job Elements will include:
- Function as a member of the management team in the development of successful growth strategies, optimization of profitability, and the continuous improvement of customer satisfaction.
- Establish sales budgets and forecasts including planned corrective actions when appropriate.
- Maximize the value of a transition process with the M&S team
- Represent the company's sales and marketing functions and the customer's requirements as an active member of the company's management team.
- Follow specific markets and potential customers to convert into sales.
- Track the progress of sales activity to anticipate & mitigate risks.
- Establish and maintain key account plans covering sales territories.
- Ensure the successful use and leverage of CRM system that will soon be implemented.
- Develop and maintain relevant sales material/tools and coordinate marketing promotion activities.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.

- BA or BS degree with an emphasis on business, marketing, and communications is required.
- MBA would be an asset.
- 8-12 years of work experience, at least three (3) of which were in a high technology business-to-business marketing environment involving complex solutions/systems is required.
- Experience in related sectors would be helpful, but is not required.
- Demonstrated experience base in developing marketing programs that evangelized about change, new technology introductions, product launches, and complex solutions is required.
- Well-honed interpersonal skills, including the ability to thrive and lead in an intense, fast paced environment filled with strong personalities

- 8-12 years of related marketing and sales experience including 5 years in a sales management leadership role is required.
- Familiarity and experience with selling technical solutions to technical customers in a variety of industries.
- Must be skilled in developing and maintaining deep customer relationships.

Must be a team player and work effectively as a member of a sales team and multi functional management team and can fit into a culture that is non political. Must be able to bring people together to solve problems and get things done with an entrepreneurial spirit, flat organization and open communications. Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills effective in 1 on 1 communications as well as group presentations. He/she will have the ability to negotiate and influence persuasively, professionally and effectively.
Analytical and logical - He/she must demonstrate the ability to make sound, timely, and unwavering decisions. Must be able to utilize discretion to make calculated decisions based on available facts and professional experience.
Mature and professional - Be a planner in both his/her thinking and directed activities.
Highly focused and driven to success and achieving goals - Must be proactive, take initiative to motivate, bring high energy and enthusiasm, and an action-oriented mentality to his/her team and to the company.
Willingness to travel approximately 25 - 50% of the time.
Ethical and intellectually honest - The successful candidate will bring unquestioned integrity, diplomacy, and strong business acumen.
